# What is the Docnote Fee?

## The Docnote fee is a small charge added to every paid request. Learn what it covers and how it differs from your provider's service fee.

When you make a payment through Docnote, you may notice a small additional charge on your receipt — this is the **Docnote fee**. Here's what it is and why it's there.

**What the Docnote fee covers:**

The Docnote fee is set by Docnote and is added to every request that has a cost attached to it. It covers the cost of maintaining the security and infrastructure of your Docnote account, including:

- **Encrypted data storage** — keeping your personal and health information secure
- **Secure login protection** — verifying your identity every time you access your account

**How it differs from your provider's fee:**

The Docnote fee is entirely separate from the uninsured service fee charged by your primary care provider. You may see both on your receipt when payment is made:

- **Uninsured service fee** — set by your primary care provider for the service requested
- **Docnote fee** — set by Docnote to cover account security and infrastructure

 💡 **Where to find it:** The Docnote fee will appear on your receipt at the time of payment. You can view all receipts by navigating to the **Receipts** section in your Docnote account.
