How to Verify Patient Details in Docnote
Verifying a patient confirms that they are an existing patient of your office. This only needs to be done once per patient — once verified, they will not need to be verified again for future requests.
💡 Good to know: If your office sent the patient their invite and they created their account through that invite link, they are automatically considered verified and do not need to go through the verification process.
Method 1 — Verify through an incoming request
When a patient submits a request, you can verify them directly from within that request as part of the Verification Task List.
- Open the request from your Docnote dashboard.
- Select Patient Details within the Verification Task List.
- Review the patient's information:
- First Name and Last Name
- Phone
- Date of Birth
- Health Card Number (if provided)
- Once confirmed, check the "This patient has been verified" checkbox.
Method 2 — Verify through the Patient list
You can also verify a patient at any time directly from the Patients section.
- Select Patients from the left-hand menu.
- Search for the patient by name.
- Select the three dots (•••) next to the patient's name.
- Select Edit Profile.
- Scroll down and select Verify Patient.
⚠️ Please note: Verification is required before a request can be moved forward. If a patient has not been verified, the Verification Task List will not be complete and the request status cannot be changed.
