How to Search for a Patient in Docnote
Learn how to search for a patient in Docnote and filter your patient list by status — including subscribed, active, invited, and disabled patients.
Finding a patient in Docnote is quick and easy. Here's how to search and filter your patient list.
Steps to search for a patient:
- Select Patients from the left-hand menu.
- Use the Search Patients bar to search by the patient's name.
Filtering your patient list:
You can also filter your patient list using the dropdown to narrow down results by status:
- All Patients — displays every patient associated with your office
- Subscribed Patients — displays patients currently enrolled in an Annual Plan. Within this view:
- 🟣 Purple dot — indicates the head paying subscriber
- 🔴 Red dot — indicates a patient who has been manually added to a plan
💡 Tip: We recommend reviewing your Subscribed Patients list every few months to ensure manually added patients are correctly assigned and that family members of patients who have cancelled their plan have been removed accordingly. You can download a CSV of your subscriber list to review head subscribers and any family members they have added to their plan.
- Active Patients — patients with an active Docnote account
- Invited Patients — patients who have been sent an invitation but have not yet created their account
- Disabled Patients — patients whose accounts have been disabled
Additional options:
- Download CSV — downloads your full patient list as a CSV file for external use
- Bulk Invite — allows you to invite multiple patients at once. As this process requires a few extra steps, we recommend contacting our support team for assistance:
