# How to Communicate with Your Primary Care Provider Through Docnote

## All messaging with your primary care provider happens inside your request. Learn how to send and receive messages using the Office Communication section.

All communication with your primary care provider regarding a request takes place directly inside that request in Docnote — through the **Office Communication** section. Both you and your provider will receive email notifications when a new message is sent.

**Steps to send a message:**

1. Log in and navigate to **Requests**.
2. Open the relevant request.
3. Scroll down to the **Office Communication** section.
4. Type your message and send it — your primary care provider will receive an **email notification**.
5. When your provider replies, you'll receive an **email notification** — log in and open the request to read their response.

 ⚠️ **For urgent matters**, contact your primary care provider directly by phone using the number listed on your Docnote dashboard.
